November 9th - Week One

Ikhlas defeats Tamjeed by a 64-58 score; Tamjeed was unable to containZakariya Tmj Khan who dropped 32 points with tough points in the paint as well as 5 3-pointers.
Adiyat narrowly defeated Kursi by a 43-42 score; Adiyat dominated the boards despite missing their All-Star Center Omar Sabri, Sherif Shehata had a solid game for Kursi who made a number of changes to their roster.
Nas demolished Kawthar by a 75-44 score; Kawthar was down by 10 at halftime and were still in it but a big run by Nas to open the second half blew the game wide open. Nas dominated the paint and spread the scoring with five players putting up at least 10 points and Sanel Sehic leading the way with 19 points.
Fatiha defeated Falaq by a 64-48 final score, Fatiha rode out the initial push from newcomer Falaq and slowly wore them down. Falaq showed some fatigue late in the game but with their ability to hit outside shots will be a team to watch. On the flipside, Fatiha has gone the path less traveled this season as after losing in the finals last year with an aging roster, they decided the best path forward was to get older and add another veteran. That said, their young guard combo of Arsalan Jamil and Jawad Khalid are solid.
Takathur defeated Zilzal by a 58-51 score; Zilzal kept it close but were not able to contain Faizal Merali who dropped 21 points including 5 3-pointers. Zilzal played well and their signing of Tyler-Anthony Tessier and Kenrick Williams will be a big boost for the season.
Asr defeated Ma'un by a 45-38 final score in a game that was closer than the score indicates. Asr was led by David Georgievski with 15 points and Adil Mirza with 11 points but their outside shooting was poor and something for them to address going forward. Ma'un is young and it showed with some quick shots and an inability to finish around the rim, Musab Zulfiqar led them with 11 points while Ahmed Khalid added 8 points in the loss.
