December 7th - Week Five

Nas demolished Adiyat by an 85-42 game that was never close, Nas started the game with a 19-3 run and never looked back. Sanel Sehic led Nas with 24 points and was 6/10 on 3-pointers and Yasin Douglas added 17 points and 6 steals. All of that said, it was Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas who did the heavy lifting with 18 points, 6 boards, a block and four steals while locking up the previous lead leader in 3-pointers Nouraiz Akbar. Akbar hasbeen lighting it up but was held to just 8 points and was not able to break free from Douglas and his "glove" defense. Adiyat got a solid game from Mish Ahmed with 16 points but it was no where near enough.
Fatiha got back to winning with a 56-46 win over Ikhlas. Arsalan Jamil led his team with 17 points as they had most of their key pieces today and seemed to correct the defensive miscues that caused their loss last week. Ikhlas got a big game from Zakariya Tmj Khan with 20 points but not enough support otherwise.
Falaq defeated Kawthar by a 60-53 score to extend their winning streak to three games. Big games from Maheer Khan with 20 and 9 as well as Ahsan Mahmood with 20 and 6 led the way. Considering they had no subs, Falaq was able to gut this one out and are looking dangerous as the season grows. Kawthar put up a good fight but huge games from Farhad Khan with 12 points and 19 rebounds supported by Saad Ali with 17 points wasn't enough.
Takathur defeated Ma'un by a 57-45 score in a game that was closer than many expected. Takathur got another great balanced effort with Hussain Shivji leading the way with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Faizal Merali,Fahim Merali and Alhussein Gillani each finished with 10 points. Ma'un remains win less on the season (the last team without a win too) and couldn't match the discipline of Takathur despite some good runs. Jamal Khan put up 11 points and 11 rebounds while Ahmed Khalid finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Kursi defeated Asr by a 56-43 score for their first win of the season. Kursi was led by ONeil Wells with 13 points and 14 rebounds while Sherif Shehataprovided some great ball movement to push his teams offense. Asr was led by Uzair Danish with 19 points while Umer Jamal finished with 8 points. After opening the season with a win, Asr has lost their last four games so some adjustments are needed.
Tamjeed defeats Zilzal at the buzzer by a 41-39 score as Bilal Forde took the final shot and stayed with it, grabbed the rebound and calmly sunk in a jumper - his celebration was not as calm (video pending). Forde led his team with 15 points and was supported by Mike Husbands with 10 points whileSteve Anagnostopoulos gave them something from all stat columns with 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals while playing solid defense. Zilzal was led by Fareed Cheema with 17 points and 6 rebounds while Andre Henriques finished with 7 points.
