February 8th - Week Eleven

Takathur crushed Adiyat 67-39 after roaring to a 24-point halftime lead and coasting the rest of the way. The wheels have really come off for Adiyat as the season has progressed but have critical games against Kursi and Kawthar in the final weeks of the season which are must win if they want to hold onto the 7th seed. Takathur got a big game from Alhussein Gillani with 22 points and Faizal Merali with 18 points. Omar Shamji added 10 points and 8 rebounds.

Fatiha rolled over Asr by a 60-31 final score, the game was close early but Asr ran out of gas early in the 2nd half and Fatiha easily pulled away. Asr was playing without their star Uzair Danish and despite the hot shooting fromWali Khan early in the game could not keep their offense going. Fatiha got a big game from Jawad Khalid with 19 points as he sliced up the Asr defense along with Youssef Daif who added 17 points.

Tamjeed mauled shorthanded Kawthar by a 71-32 final score. Tamjeed came with 11 players and Kawthar only 6. The size and shooting of Tamjeed was just too much and after a 45-14 lead at halftime, Kawthar tried to make it respectable and had a better second half on the back of Esau Habibulla but it wasn't enough. Mic Husbenz led Tamjeed with 23 points while Mudasir Marfatia led Kawthar with 12.

Ikhlas defeated Falaq by a 74-67 final score. Ikhlas built a 12-point lead at the half and held off a late Falaq run for the win. Ikhlas was led by Zakariya Tmj Khan with 20 points and Chad Mondesir with 14 points. Falaq was led by Nathan Campbell with 27 points and Zohaib Kamal with 19 points.

Nas narrowly defeated Zilzal by a 64-58 final score in their closest game of the season. Nas has all their key players but the size of Zilzal seemed to disrupt their offense. Nas was led by Walied Jim Ex with 15 points and Yasin Douglas with a big 15 points off the bench. Zilzal was led by Fareed Cheemawith 20 points and Tyler-Anthony Tessier with 16 points.

Kursi defeated Ma'un by a 53-44 final score but needed some heroics to do it. Ma'un built a halftime lead of 27-19 and seemed in control as Jamal Khanwas scoring at will but the second half was a different story. To start the second half, Kursi assigned Sherif Shehata to cover Khan and the challenge (along with some heckling from the crowd) resulted in a turning back the clock moment as Shehata took over the game. Shehata racked up five steals early in the 2nd half and was scoring tough baskets and creating changes for teammates. The result was a big Kursi run to take the lead and the win. Shehata led Kursi with 13 points while ONeil Wells and Martin Konecny each added 12 points. Ma;'un was led by Khan with 15 points and Moazzam Sheikh with 14 points.

February 1st - Week Ten

Asr defeated Adiyat by a 50-48 score as Uzair Danish hit the game winning shot in the final seconds of regulation. Danish led all scorers with 19 points and added 8 rebounds for a great game to lead his team. The win was big as it moves Asr out of the clutter at the bottom of the standings as the playoffs approach. Adiyat was led by Saurabh Acharya with 15 points and Omar Sabri with 6 points and 16 rebounds. The tailspin for Adiyat continues as after starting the season undefeated for the first four games, a 43-point loss to Nas broke their confidence and has then winning only one of their last six games.
Ikhlas defeated Takathur by a 78-71 final score in a wide open game. Ikhlas was led by Jay Paul with 40 points and Zakariya Tmj Khan with 23 points. Takathur were led by Faizal Merali with 26 points but it was really their defense that let them down as Ikhlas (with no subs) seemed to be able to score at will.
Kursi got a big 56-42 win over Kawthar and were led by Martin Konecny with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Kawthar seemed caught off-guard that their former big man had joined up with Kursi and could surely have used his help on this day after getting pounded 48-16 on the boards. Kawthar was led byKomail Rawjani with 15 points.
Nas beat Fatiha by a 61-52 final score (in what both teams referred to as the Game of the Day). Nas was led by Yoosrie Salhia with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas with 14 points and 5 steals. Fatiha was led by Youssef Daif with 14 points and Arsalan Jamil with 13 points. With the win, Nas has a solid hold on first place as the season winds down.
Tamjeed defeated Falaq by a 62-52 final score. Falaq started flat and at one point was down by over 20 but fought back to make it a one possession game but ran out of gas allowing Tamjeed to take the win. Tamjeed was led by Jeremy Alleyne with 25 points and Steve Anagnostopoulos with 12 points while Falaq was led by Nathan Campbell with 20 points and Ahsan Mahmoodwith 18 points.
Ma'un shocked with world with a 72-65 win over Zilzal. Ma'un got great performances from many players but were led by Jamal Khan who ate up Zilzal for 39 points; Khan got into a one on one game with Fareed Cheemawhich didn't turn out so well for Cheema who had a pair of three's hit in his face and was subjected to chirping from the stands as fans loved seeing the underdog doing well. Ma'un also got 12 points from Babur Ali while The-Sarim Khan hit knocked down three big 3-pointers while trying to defend Zilzal big man Kenrick Williams. Zilzal got solid performances from Andre Henriques with 19 points and Tyler-Anthony Tessier with 18 points but it wasn't enough. Ma'un gets their first win of the season but still find themselves in last as teams Kursi managed to get a win to keep out of the basement.

January 25th - Week Nine

Ikhlas defeated Adiyat by a 57-37 final score riding a big game fromZakariya Tmj Khan who led his team with 18 points, Brandon Augustinehad a strong game with 12 points in support. Adiyat have seen the wheels come off lately losing four of their last five games after opening the season with a four game undefeated streak. Nouraiz Akbar led them with 11 points but they need much more. Saurabh Acharya was missing this day and it showed as he has become a big part of their offense lately.
Tamjeed won 53-36 over Takathur as they used their full roster of 10 players against Takathur with no subs and wore them down. A balanced scoring effort and a 42-24 advantage on the boards were the difference. Takathur were led by Faizal Merali and Khalfan Abdul Majid Khalfan who each finished with 12 points but the absence of Hussain Shivji andAlhussein Gillani showed.
Zilzal defeated Kawthar 65-51 in an unconvincing win considering Kawthar had no subs and were missing key players. Zilzal was led by Rizwan Ranawith 21 points while Fareed Cheema added 17 points. Kawthar was led bySaad Ali with 24 points and Farhad Khan with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Fatiha demolished Ma'un by a 68-32 final score. Ma'un was missing guardsArsalan Jamil and Jawad Khalid but it didn't show as they used their size advantage to pound the ball in the paint, the 38-19 advantage on the boards showed their post dominance. Fatiha was led by Waseem Manigat with 18 points while Ma'un was led by Jamal Khan with 9 points. Fatiha made a point to send varying double teams to limit Khan who went into the game as the league's leading scorer and their strategy worked as the disruption was enough to even throw off Ahmed Khalid and Moazzam Sheikh who were not given much space to work or fast break opportunities.
Nas defeated Asr by a 50-37 score in a game that was closer than it should have been. Nas was playing without Sanel Sehic and a short bench to start the game, an issue compounded by some early foul trouble which allowed Asr to take the lead and hold it for much of the first half. JamalSaugaCity Bundy Douglas led Nas in scoring with 16 points but it was Yoosrie Salhia who turned the game for Nas as when he arrived (late) it changed the game with Asr not being able to drive as easily and having to work harder for rebounds. Salhia finished with 9 points & 11 rebounds in a solid effort. Asr was led by Uzair Danish with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Poor free throw shooting hurt Asr as they shot 9 for 23 from the line as a team. The game ended with 6th Man of the Year Candidate (if we actually had that award) Yasin Douglas throwing down a big dunk.
Falaq defeated Kursi 65-58 in a surprisingly close game. Falaq was led by Nathan Campbell with 29 points while Ahsan Mahmood finished with 20 points. Kursi started the game with no subs and had to drag Mohamud Bashir out of retirement (he put up 7 points in his return). Kursi was led by Hossam Refaei and Sherif Shehata who each finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Shehata never gave up on the game and Salman (Raheem Portis) Elmi added 10 points and 10 rebounds in a breakout game for the youngster.

January 18th - Week Eight

Adiyat defeated Tamjeed by a 51-45 score, Saurabh Acharya led his team to the win with 17 points and 8 rebounds and hit a big (banked) three in crunch time - a big win for Adiyat who breaks a two-game losing streak. Tamjeed got a big game from Mike Husbands with 16 points and Bilal Forde with 15 points & 11 rebounds but it wasn't enough. After a breakout game last week Jibran Khan was held scoreless. Tamjeed was missingSteve Anagnostopoulos who is one of their under the radar studs as he contributes on both ends of the court for his team.
Ikhlas gutted out a 54-45 win over Asr despite having no subs against Asr who was missing their leading scorer David. Asr jumped out to an early halftime 25-14 lead but was not able to hold it as Ikhlas made a run led byChad Mondesir and Brandon Augustine; they got great support from fill in Ahsan Mian who was credited with five steals. Asr got a big game fromUmer Jamal with 19 points but team defense and some silly fouls got them in trouble and resulted in two players fouling out leaving them with no subs of their own.
Takathur finished with a strong second half to defeat Kursi 57-40.Alhussein Gillani had another strong game for Takathur finishing with 17 points & 7 rebounds while Hussain Shivji finished with 15 points & 8 rebounds. Kursi got a big game from ONeil Wells with 20 points & 11 rebounds but it wasn't enough.
Fatiha defeated Kawthar 62-48 in a game that was close much of the way. Fatiha was playing without Arsalan Jamil but Jawad Khalid stepped up with a big game as he distributed the ball well and created easy baskets. Khalid finished with 12 points while Waseem Manigat ended with 22 points and Youssef Daif finished with 11 points & 8 rebounds against his old team. Kawthar played with a short bench but got a gutsy effort fromKomail Rawjani with 18 points, Mudasir Marfatia with 14 points andFarhad Khan with 11 points & 9 rebounds.
Nas steamrolled Ma'un with a 96-60 win. Nas was led by Yoosrie Salhia with 27 points & 12 rebounds as he punished Ma'un in the paint. Jim Ex finished with 15 points while Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas added 14 points. Ma'un was led by their young star, Jamal Khan who torched Nas for 33 points. Khan had a quiet first half, struggling to find space among the big defenders for Nas so second half he took his game outside and at one point knocked down four three's in a row. Moazzam Sheikh added 21 points in a strong game but Ahmed Khalid wasn't able to get his game going which hurt his team.
Post Game, Jamal Douglas upon learning he was outscored by fellow Jamal (Khan) summed the game up by stating "Jamal Khan won the battle, but Jamal Douglas won the war"
Falaq defeated Zilzal by a 64-56 final score as they got a balanced effort and seem to be silencing critics who wrote them off when Maheer Khanwas lost for the season. Nathan Campbell finished with 17 points & 10 rebounds while Imran Salam finished with 16 points and Ahsan Mahmoodadded 12 points. Husain Chanda broke out in a big way with 14 points and some clutch three's in the second half. Falaq just seemed to want this more and was exemplified best by a play where an errant Zilzal pass went into their backcourt and the team didn't bother to chase it thinking it would go out of play, Ahsan Mahmood sprinted down court, saved the ball and scored an uncontested layup - the type of hustle play that has his team in 5th place and moving up the table. Zilzal came into this game with no subs and the fatigue clearly impacted them. Fareed Cheema started strong but seemed gassed at the end finishing with 18 points. Andre Henriques added 16 points while Kenrick Williams finished with 12 points & 13 rebounds. Zilzal is now on a surprising four-game losing streak and they seem to be fading late in each game so better attendance may help them get back on track.

January 11th - Week Seven

Ikhlas defeated Kawthar by a 54-40 final score despite having no subs asZakariya Tmj Khan and Zamam Khan were not available. Brandon Augustine stepped up with 17 points to lead the way. Kawthar got a solid effort from Komail Rawjani with 13 points and 7 steals but it was not enough. Ikhlas used their size to their advantage to dominate the paint and Kawthar was not able to match-up.
Falaq defeated Adiyat by a 56-55 final score as Adiyat had the ball in the final seconds but were not able to make the game winning shot. Falaq has rumours swirling that they have lost Maheer Khan for the remainder of the season which is a huge blow. That said Nathan Campbell put up 21 points and 8 rebounds while Ahsan Mahmood supported him with 15 points. Their replacement for Maheer is Zohaib Kamal who debuted with 14 points. Adiyat was led by Saurabh Acharya with 17 points and Nouraiz Akbar with 11 points in the loss.
Nas defeats Kursi by a 59-42 final score in a game that was close early and ended anything but. Kursi was leading 19-18 early and forced Nas to call a timeout which resulted in a Nas 11-0 run to finish the first half and they never looked back. Nas was led by Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas with 16 points and 8 rebounds while Sanel Sehic added 11 points. Kursi was led by Dan Bederman with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Fatiha defeated shorthanded Zilzal by a 61-56 score. Fatiha was led byJawad Khalid with 15 points in a solid game as he hit some big three's to give his team the lead. Zilzal was led by Tyler-Anthony Tessier with 17 points but when Fareed Cheema fouled out (while having a solid game) it was an uphill climb for their team with no subs.
Takathur defeats Asr by a 55-28 score. Asr started off strong but faded against the patient and precise play of Takathur. Takathur was withoutFaizal Merali but it didn't matter as Alhussein Gillani dropped 21 points and was a force offensively, he was supported by Omar Shamji with 11 points and Hussain Shivji with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Asr was led by Uzair Danish with 11 points.
Tamjeed defeated Ma'un by a 69-57 final score in a game that was an exciting one to watch. Ma'un came roaring out the gate to the tune of a 21-7 early lead and 36-30 at the half. Tamjeed made a run and made a late comeback and hit big shots down the stretch to take the win. Mike Husbands led with 21 points while Sheehan (Devane G-m) Morgan came up big down the stretch with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The turning point was the play of Jibran Khan who hit a big three when his team needed it and had a spectacular play where he drove the baseline and managed to hit a reverse lay-up switching hands in mid-air - his play got his team moving and seemed to deflate Ma'un who couldn't answer back. Ma'un was led by Jamal Khan with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. He was supported by Moazzam Sheikh with 14 points, Musab Zulfiqar with 10 points and Ahmed Khalid with 10 points. Ma'un was flying early with some great defense which created turnovers and points but were not able to keep it up as Tamjeed made adjustments to limit Jamal Khan who was slicing through their defense early as he dropped 16 of his 20 points in the first half.

December 14th - Week Six

The day started off with a dud as Adiyat no showed for their game giving Zilzal the default win. It is unclear whether the 43-point loss they suffered at the hands of Nas broke their confidence to even show up. Zilzal gets the win but after a tough buzzer beater loss to Tamjeed in Week Five they would surely have preferred to play.
Ikhlas defeated Kursi by a 53-51 final score. Big games from Zakariya Tmj Khan with 18 points and 12 rebounds and Chad Mondesir with 13 points and 10 rebounds led the way. Kursi got a big game from ONeil Wells with 12 points and 9 rebounds but it wasn't enough. Kursi has had a number of close losses so if they tighten things up they could easily turn their season around from their current 1-5 record.
Kawthar defeated Ma'un by a 57-44 score, riding a big game from Farhad Khan with 18 points and 13 rebounds while Komail Rawjani added 15 points. Ma'un got a monster game from Jamal Khan with 30 points and 9 rebounds as he ate up the weak interior defense but Ahmed Khalid was held to 8 points and 7 rebounds. Ma'un remains winless but some better shot selection and more focus on team defense could see them close out games better.
Fatiha defeated shorthanded Takathur by a 50-40 score. Fatiha was led byArsalan Jamil with 24 points including a 5/6 performance on 3-pointers. Takathur gave a gutsy performance with no subs and were led by Omar Shamji with 16 points and Alhussein Gillani with 12 points and 5 steals.
Nas defeated Falaq by a 81-63 final score; the game was close early in the second but Nas turned up the defensive pressure and broke the game open as they made a big run. Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas put up a ridiculous line of 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 steals to lead his team. Sanel Sehicfinished with 19 points while Yasin Douglas added 16 points. Falaq was led by Maheer Khan with 15 points and Ahsan Mahmood with 18 points.
Asr won their second game of the season with a 45-43 final score against Tamjeed. Asr was led by David Georgievski with 14 points and he was supported by Zohaib Danish with 10 points while Uzair Danish finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Tamjeed was led by Bilal Forde with 21 points. Tamjeed was in it but some late defensive miscues and rushed shots hurt them down the stretch.

December 7th - Week Five

Nas demolished Adiyat by an 85-42 game that was never close, Nas started the game with a 19-3 run and never looked back. Sanel Sehic led Nas with 24 points and was 6/10 on 3-pointers and Yasin Douglas added 17 points and 6 steals. All of that said, it was Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas who did the heavy lifting with 18 points, 6 boards, a block and four steals while locking up the previous lead leader in 3-pointers Nouraiz Akbar. Akbar hasbeen lighting it up but was held to just 8 points and was not able to break free from Douglas and his "glove" defense. Adiyat got a solid game from Mish Ahmed with 16 points but it was no where near enough.
Fatiha got back to winning with a 56-46 win over Ikhlas. Arsalan Jamil led his team with 17 points as they had most of their key pieces today and seemed to correct the defensive miscues that caused their loss last week. Ikhlas got a big game from Zakariya Tmj Khan with 20 points but not enough support otherwise.
Falaq defeated Kawthar by a 60-53 score to extend their winning streak to three games. Big games from Maheer Khan with 20 and 9 as well as Ahsan Mahmood with 20 and 6 led the way. Considering they had no subs, Falaq was able to gut this one out and are looking dangerous as the season grows. Kawthar put up a good fight but huge games from Farhad Khan with 12 points and 19 rebounds supported by Saad Ali with 17 points wasn't enough.
Takathur defeated Ma'un by a 57-45 score in a game that was closer than many expected. Takathur got another great balanced effort with Hussain Shivji leading the way with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Faizal Merali,Fahim Merali and Alhussein Gillani each finished with 10 points. Ma'un remains win less on the season (the last team without a win too) and couldn't match the discipline of Takathur despite some good runs. Jamal Khan put up 11 points and 11 rebounds while Ahmed Khalid finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Kursi defeated Asr by a 56-43 score for their first win of the season. Kursi was led by ONeil Wells with 13 points and 14 rebounds while Sherif Shehataprovided some great ball movement to push his teams offense. Asr was led by Uzair Danish with 19 points while Umer Jamal finished with 8 points. After opening the season with a win, Asr has lost their last four games so some adjustments are needed.
Tamjeed defeats Zilzal at the buzzer by a 41-39 score as Bilal Forde took the final shot and stayed with it, grabbed the rebound and calmly sunk in a jumper - his celebration was not as calm (video pending). Forde led his team with 15 points and was supported by Mike Husbands with 10 points whileSteve Anagnostopoulos gave them something from all stat columns with 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals while playing solid defense. Zilzal was led by Fareed Cheema with 17 points and 6 rebounds while Andre Henriques finished with 7 points.

November 30th - Week Four

Ikhlas defeated Zilzal by a 69-50 final score as Zakariya Tmj Khan was too much for Zilzal to handle putting up 20 points and 8 rebounds. Fareed Cheema led Zilzal with 17 points and 13 rebounds but it wasn't enough. An interesting match-up as it featured key pieces from last years championship winning team facing off against one another when their team fall apart before the season began.
Kawthar defeated Asr by a 50-40 score for their first win of the season.Komail Rawjani broke out for 20 points to lead his team after a rough start to this year. Asr was led by David Georgievski with 19 points and after a convincing win to open the season have lost their last three games in the final minutes which is something this will want to correct as they face a winless Kursi next week.
Adiyat defeated Fatiha by a 48-47 final score as half court buzzer beater didn't go in for Fatiha. Adiyat got a big game from Omar Sabri who dominated the post with 16 rebounds while Nouraiz Akbar shot well from the outside once again to stretch Fathia's defense. Fun Fact: Akbar has hit 17 3-pointers this season while Fatiha as a team has hit only 8.
Tamjeed got their first win of the season with a 54-46 win over Kursi. Tamjeed used their bench to wear down Kursi and spread the scoring around with Mohammed Ghori finishing with 13 points and Bilal Forde finishing with 12 points to lead them. Kursi got a huge game from ONeil Wells with 16 points and 16 rebounds but it wasn't enough.
Nas defeated Takathur by a 65-45 score in the anticipated game of the day between undefeated teams. Takathur started with no subs and by the time they had help arrive it was too late. The combination of Sanel Sehic with 22 points and Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas with 19 points was too much for Takathur to handle. Douglas also played great "glove-like" defense on Takathur's big offensive weapons to disrupt their offense.
Falaq defeated Ma'un by a 78-58 final score as Falaq got a big game from Nathan Campbell with 29 points and 9 rebounds and a quietly effective game from Maheer Khan with 16 points. A 38-36 game at halftime for Falaq was blown wide open in the second half with poor shot selection and weak interior defense from Ma'un. Ma'un did unveil their big signing in Jamal Khan who impressed with 23 points and 11 rebounds and was supported by Ahmed Khalid with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

November 23rd - Week Three

Adiyat defeated Ma'un by a 70-59 final score, Adiyat was led by Nouraiz Akbar who hit nine 3-pointers on his way to 29 points, Omar Sabri supported him with 14 points and 19 rebounds as a great one-two punch inside/outside game. Ma'un was without captain Ahmed Khalid and it showed in the little details. Moazzam Sheikh led his team with 23 points.
Nas beat Ikhlas by a 70-46 score with a balanced effort. Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas led the way with 16 points and 9 rebounds while Jim Ex supported him with 15 points. Ikhlas was playing with only one sub so whenRahyl H fouled out the lack of bench hurt as Nas opened things up. Ambrish Patel led them with 19 points.
Takathur defeated Kawthar by a 55-29 score as Alhussein Gillani put in 17 points followed by Faizal Merali with 16 points. The great ball movement and patience of Takathur was too much despite them playing without captainHussain Shivji. Kawthar has always been a strong team from past seasons but this year may be a transition as they have been trying out new players to seemingly rebuild. Komail Rawjani led them this day with 8 points.
Zilzal beat Kursi by a 58-49 final score in a game that was close right up to the end. Zilzal were led by Tyler-Anthony Tessier with 15 points and Fareed Cheema with 14 points as they used their size to do a lot of damage in the paint. Kursi was led by Nabil Hamade with 12 points and Sherif Shehata with 8 points. Kursi has yet to win a game this season but all have been close so if they can finish games better they are sure to turn things around.
Fatiha defeated Tamjeed by a 48-40 score in what felt like a defensive battle. Fatiha was led by Waseem Manigat with 15 points and Youssef Daif with 10 points. Tamjeed was playing without Mike Husbands and Fatiha then closed up on Mohamed Ghori and limited his shots effectively hindering the outside game. Bilal Forde stepped up with 12 points and 16 rebounds but it was not enough.
Falaq defeated Asr by a 47-39 final score. Falaq got a big game from Ahsan Mahmood with 19 points and Maheer Khan with 15 points and 5 steals. Uzair Danish was the bright spot for Asr with 9 points. Surprisingly this was the first win of the season for Falaq although their first two games were against veteran teams.

November 16th - Week Two

Adiyat and Kawthar tied at 47 as overtime was not able to provide a winner for this one. A disappointing game for Adiyat as they had their full roster available and Ali Wadee and Omar Sabri were showing great chemistry but Kawthar kept it close and got a big game from Talha Basit with 15 points.
Fatiha defeated Kursi by a 42-30 score in a very defensive oriented game.Arsalan Jamil won his head to head match-up with Sherif Shehata which wasa key factor for his team getting the win. Both teams were terrible at shooting from the outside, combining to go 0 for 19.
Ikhlas defeated Ma'un by a 53-41 score. Ikhlas had built an early 19-3 lead and seemed on their way to a blowout win but Ma'un called a timeout with 6:31 left and after some strong words from captain Ahmed Khalid they went on a 15-3 run to finish the half and make a game of it. Ma'un continued to keep it close but lack of an inside game hurt (they didn't shoot a single free throw all game) and gave Ikhlas the win.
Nas defeated Tamjeed by a 69-51 score. Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas with a monster game against his old team as he dropped 32 points (including 4/5 on 3-pointers) and had 5 steals while playing great defense. He also locked up Tamjeed's new acquisition (and his brother) Bilal Forde. Tamjeed managed to keep Sanel Sehic in check but had no answer for Jamal Douglas or Yasin Douglas.
Takathur defeats Falaq by a 60-54 final score. Falaq led early in the game and seemed poised to take a win here but Takathur was patient and got a big game from Hussain Shivji with 16 points and 10 rebounds as well asFaizal Merali with 15 points. Maheer Khan finished with 16 points and was supported by Ahsan Mahmood who finished with 14 points. Falaq has lost both their games by close margins against two of the top teams so once they put things together watch for them to start hitting the win column on a regular basis.
Zilzal defeats Asr by a 46-40 score; Asr had a 25-14 lead at the half riding the hot hand of Umer Jamal but could not keep it going in the second half and fell apart in transition defense allowing Andre Henriques to get some easy lay-ups in the final minutes to seal the win for Zilzal.

November 9th - Week One

Ikhlas defeats Tamjeed by a 64-58 score; Tamjeed was unable to containZakariya Tmj Khan who dropped 32 points with tough points in the paint as well as 5 3-pointers.

Fatiha defeated Falaq by a 64-48 final score, Fatiha rode out the initial push from newcomer Falaq and slowly wore them down. Falaq showed some fatigue late in the game but with their ability to hit outside shots will be a team to watch. On the flipside, Fatiha has gone the path less traveled this season as after losing in the finals last year with an aging roster, they decided the best path forward was to get older and add another veteran. That said, their young guard combo of Arsalan Jamil and Jawad Khalid are solid.
Takathur defeated Zilzal by a 58-51 score; Zilzal kept it close but were not able to contain Faizal Merali who dropped 21 points including 5 3-pointers. Zilzal played well and their signing of Tyler-Anthony Tessier and Kenrick Williams will be a big boost for the season.
Asr defeated Ma'un by a 45-38 final score in a game that was closer than the score indicates. Asr was led by David Georgievski with 15 points and Adil Mirza with 11 points but their outside shooting was poor and something for them to address going forward. Ma'un is young and it showed with some quick shots and an inability to finish around the rim, Musab Zulfiqar led them with 11 points while Ahmed Khalid added 8 points in the loss.
