December 14th - Week Six

The day started off with a dud as Adiyat no showed for their game giving Zilzal the default win. It is unclear whether the 43-point loss they suffered at the hands of Nas broke their confidence to even show up. Zilzal gets the win but after a tough buzzer beater loss to Tamjeed in Week Five they would surely have preferred to play.
Ikhlas defeated Kursi by a 53-51 final score. Big games from Zakariya Tmj Khan with 18 points and 12 rebounds and Chad Mondesir with 13 points and 10 rebounds led the way. Kursi got a big game from ONeil Wells with 12 points and 9 rebounds but it wasn't enough. Kursi has had a number of close losses so if they tighten things up they could easily turn their season around from their current 1-5 record.
Kawthar defeated Ma'un by a 57-44 score, riding a big game from Farhad Khan with 18 points and 13 rebounds while Komail Rawjani added 15 points. Ma'un got a monster game from Jamal Khan with 30 points and 9 rebounds as he ate up the weak interior defense but Ahmed Khalid was held to 8 points and 7 rebounds. Ma'un remains winless but some better shot selection and more focus on team defense could see them close out games better.
Fatiha defeated shorthanded Takathur by a 50-40 score. Fatiha was led byArsalan Jamil with 24 points including a 5/6 performance on 3-pointers. Takathur gave a gutsy performance with no subs and were led by Omar Shamji with 16 points and Alhussein Gillani with 12 points and 5 steals.
Nas defeated Falaq by a 81-63 final score; the game was close early in the second but Nas turned up the defensive pressure and broke the game open as they made a big run. Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas put up a ridiculous line of 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 steals to lead his team. Sanel Sehicfinished with 19 points while Yasin Douglas added 16 points. Falaq was led by Maheer Khan with 15 points and Ahsan Mahmood with 18 points.
Asr won their second game of the season with a 45-43 final score against Tamjeed. Asr was led by David Georgievski with 14 points and he was supported by Zohaib Danish with 10 points while Uzair Danish finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Tamjeed was led by Bilal Forde with 21 points. Tamjeed was in it but some late defensive miscues and rushed shots hurt them down the stretch.
