November 16th - Week Two

Adiyat and Kawthar tied at 47 as overtime was not able to provide a winner for this one. A disappointing game for Adiyat as they had their full roster available and Ali Wadee and Omar Sabri were showing great chemistry but Kawthar kept it close and got a big game from Talha Basit with 15 points.
Fatiha defeated Kursi by a 42-30 score in a very defensive oriented game.Arsalan Jamil won his head to head match-up with Sherif Shehata which wasa key factor for his team getting the win. Both teams were terrible at shooting from the outside, combining to go 0 for 19.
Ikhlas defeated Ma'un by a 53-41 score. Ikhlas had built an early 19-3 lead and seemed on their way to a blowout win but Ma'un called a timeout with 6:31 left and after some strong words from captain Ahmed Khalid they went on a 15-3 run to finish the half and make a game of it. Ma'un continued to keep it close but lack of an inside game hurt (they didn't shoot a single free throw all game) and gave Ikhlas the win.
Nas defeated Tamjeed by a 69-51 score. Jamal SaugaCity Bundy Douglas with a monster game against his old team as he dropped 32 points (including 4/5 on 3-pointers) and had 5 steals while playing great defense. He also locked up Tamjeed's new acquisition (and his brother) Bilal Forde. Tamjeed managed to keep Sanel Sehic in check but had no answer for Jamal Douglas or Yasin Douglas.
Takathur defeats Falaq by a 60-54 final score. Falaq led early in the game and seemed poised to take a win here but Takathur was patient and got a big game from Hussain Shivji with 16 points and 10 rebounds as well asFaizal Merali with 15 points. Maheer Khan finished with 16 points and was supported by Ahsan Mahmood who finished with 14 points. Falaq has lost both their games by close margins against two of the top teams so once they put things together watch for them to start hitting the win column on a regular basis.
Zilzal defeats Asr by a 46-40 score; Asr had a 25-14 lead at the half riding the hot hand of Umer Jamal but could not keep it going in the second half and fell apart in transition defense allowing Andre Henriques to get some easy lay-ups in the final minutes to seal the win for Zilzal.
