December 6th - Week Six

11am - Adiyat defeats Bayyina by a 73-50 final score for their first win of the season while Bayyina is left to still find their first win. Adiyat was led byHamza Chaudhary with 20 points including 5/7 on three pointers. Louis Moore added 15 points while Omar Sabri finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Bayyina got a big game from Stefan Mioc with 19 points and 11 rebounds while Tyrone Ford finished with 13 points. Bayyina is off until the new year and need to figure out how to right the ship or they face the danger of being relegated.

12pm - Qariyah gets a comeback win over Al-Masad by a 48-46 score. Al-Masad led most of the game but Qariyah slowly chipped away eventually taking the lead late and holding on for the win. Qariyah was led by Saad Ahmad with 21 points and 8 rebounds while Abdullah Alzoubi finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Al-Masad was led by Adnan Kahwaji with 11 points and Tremell Mayers with 10 points. Poor outside shooting did Al-Masad in as they went 4/25 on three-pointers which allowed Qariyah to stage the comeback. Qariyah now has a solid grip on first place and a matchup with winless Inshirah next week while Al-Masad is off until the new year.

1pm - Ikhlas defeats Kursi 59-47 to move into first place. Ikhlas was led byChad Mondesir with 18 points and 13 rebounds while Zamam Khan has 17 points and Zakariya Tmj Khan finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Kursi were once again missing some of their key players and had no subs but put up a great effort nonetheless. They were led by Wasef Ahmad with 20 points. Kursi has now lost their last two games and have another tough game next week against Takathur.

2pm - Zilzal escapes with a 47-46 win over Kawthar. Saad Ali had a huge game against his former team, putting up 17 points and 13 rebounds while playing great lock-down defense; Fareed Cheema finished with 15 points. Kawthar was led by Jon Grunham with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Komail Rawjani finished with 11 points. Kawthar looks to rebounds against Asr next week while Zilzal gets a tough match-up with Tamjeed.

3pm - Nas grinds out a 57-53 win over Fatiha after building an 18-1 lead early in the game and doing enough to hold on in the final minutes when Fatiha clawed back to make it a 2-point game. Nas was led by Shawn Berry with 16 points and 6 rebounds while Sanel Sehic finished with 12 points - and only took 4 three-point shots. Nas got a boost with JamalSaugaCity Bundy Douglas playing through a foot injury to put up 7 points.Jim Ex also come off the IR and gave some solid minutes early in the game with 8 points and 4 steals. Fatiha was led by Deklon Roberts with 13 points while Mike Jacobs put up 10 points and 9 rebounds. Early turnovers created a big whole for Fatiha to climb out of which they nearly did but their horrendous start cost them the game. Fatiha gets a tough match-up with Falaq next week while Nas faces Adiyat who are coming off their first win of the season.

4pm - Ma'un defeated Asr by a 44-38 score in a game that was close right to the final buzzer. Asr got into early foul trouble that disrupted their flow and ended with them trailing 21-10 at the half but they chipped away to make it a one-possession game late but didn't have enough to tie it up.Jamal Khan led his team to the win with 17 points and 13 rebounds whileYasser Lachemi added 9 points. Asr was led by Uzair Danish with 16 points and 9 rebounds as he kept his team in this game single-handed most of the time. Both teams shot poorly from the outside, Asr 3/18 and Ma'un 2/15 with the latter cutting down on some of their poor shot selection from previous games which helped them win here. Asr will face Kawthar next week with both teams sporting a 1-3 record while Ma'un is off until the new year.
